When should I book my newborn photography session?
The best time to reserve your newborn photography session is during your second trimester, ideally between 20–28 weeks of pregnancy. Your session will be scheduled once your baby arrives and photographed within the first 1–2 weeks of life when newborns are sleepiest and easiest to pose.
What if my baby has already arrived?
If your baby is already here, please still reach out. While many families reserve their session during pregnancy, I always do my best to accommodate last-minute newborn sessions when availability allows. Even if your baby is a little older, beautiful portraits are still absolutely possible.
Where is your newborn photography studio located?
My private newborn photography studio is located in downtown Frederick, Maryland, near Carroll Creek. The studio has been designed to provide a calm, comfortable environment for both baby and parents, and is fully stocked with wraps, outfits, bonnets, headbands, and carefully selected props.
Do parents and siblings participate in newborn sessions?
Yes! Newborn sessions focus on your baby but also include parent, sibling, and family portraits. These images often become the most treasured photographs from your session.
What should we bring to our newborn session?
You don’t need to bring much at all. I provide a curated collection of newborn wraps, outfits, headbands, bonnets, and props for your baby. Before your session, we will also plan wardrobe and styling for parents to ensure everything coordinates beautifully.
How long does a newborn session take?
Newborn sessions are relaxed and baby-led, typically lasting 2–3 hours. This allows time for feeding, soothing, and gentle posing so your baby remains comfortable throughout the session.
How much does newborn photography cost?
The session fee is $200, which includes your planning consultation, portrait session, and ordering appointment. Artwork and digital collections are purchased separately, with prints beginning at $170 and portrait collections beginning at $790.
