Right before the holidays, I photographed one of my favorite sessions of the year, an extended family session with grandparents, their three grown children, spouses, and all of the grandchildren together in one place while everyone was gathered at the grandparents Frederick, Maryland home for the holidays

On the surface, it might sound a little chaotic. Multiple families. Different personalities. Kids at different ages and stages. Everyone trying to coordinate schedules during the busiest time of year.

But what it really was?
Meaningful.

My job isn’t to force perfection—it’s to guide, organize, and create space for authentic connection. We moved efficiently, grouped people thoughtfully, and allowed time for natural interactions. The result was a gallery full of images that felt warm, connected, and full of life.

Because when you look back, you won’t remember whether someone blinked or a child needed a break.
