Motocross Dads

Over the years several dads shared during their consultation that he races motocross. Because I knew in advance, I was able to plan something extra special.

We incorporated his helmet and I created a custom bucket cover with his race number and baby’s name. It ended up being such a meaningful image for their family — strong, personal, and completely one of a kind.

Teddy Bear with Generations of Meaning

One mama told me about a teddy bear her father had given her when she was little. She wanted that same feeling in her newborn portraits.

Since we discussed it beforehand, I could design the set to highlight the bear safely and beautifully, making it a sweet connection between grandparent and brand-new baby.

Game of Thrones Inspired Newborn Set

This one was so fun.

Dad wanted something inspired by his favorite series. Because I had notice, my son designed and printed a tiny crown on his 3D printer. I then styled the set with rich, dark tones and fur textures to create that dramatic, regal feel.

There is no way that comes together without planning ahead — but when it does, wow.

Dairy Farm Family Setup

For a family in the dairy business, I customized a milk bucket with their farm logo and found a vintage milk jug. I filled it with white paint to resemble milk for the image.

The result honored their livelihood and created artwork that truly represented their family history.

Why Bringing a New Idea on Session Day Is Tough

Session day is focused on:

• baby’s safety
• keeping them sleepy and comfortable
• moving efficiently through poses

Suddenly trying to copy a photo from Pinterest or create something we’ve never discussed can lead to stress for everyone — and that’s the opposite of the calm experience I want you to have.
